United States-bred Cantab Hall has left an indelible mark as a trotting sire worldwide.

Not only did the US Hall of Famer did he leave champions of the track, but he also became a sire of sires.

Swedish Group 1 winner Volstead is continuing that tradition.

The son of Cantab Hall is quickly making his mark in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, which his first crops impressing in the first season on the track.

Haras des Trotteurs stood Volstead for two years, with him producing 95 foals in Australia and 55 in New Zealand.

Volstead has already five individual winners in Australia, with Maoris Mac the latest in a Haras des Trotteurs Nutrien Equine Trotting Classic heat for 2yo fillies at Kilmore on Thursday, August 3.

She has the opportunity in the $62,500 final at Bendigo on Friday, August 11 to join We Can Have It All (NZ Young Guns 2yo Series Final) and Violet Stanford (Vicbred Platinum Home Grown 2yo Trotting Fillies Classic) as feature winners for Volstead.

Haras des Trotteurs continues to offer the much sought-after Cantab Hall bloodline through 2020 North American Breeders Crown 2 winner On A Streak US, which will this year stand his second stud season in Australia.

On A Streak, which attracted over 80 mares as a member of the Haras des Trotteurs stallion roster in 2022, is one of the fastest 2yo trotters to have stood in Australasia.

He had a career record of 1:52.4, also winning the $535,000 William Wellwood and being named Canada’s 2yo trotting colt of the year after earning $US850,000.
