Exciting for the Australian breeding industry to see Northern American champion sire Walner CA having his first Australian winner.
US-bred import G O A T (trained by Ricky Alchin) greeted the judge at his first Australian start in a 3yo trot at Albion Park on Tuesday, June 18.
The colt was a winner as a 2yo in the US.
Walner (by Chapter Seven US), which won nine of 10 starts, has been described as a generational game changer in the US breeding scene - making an immediate impact at stud.
His first three crops to the races saw him in 2023 dominate the 2yo, 3yo and all-age sire lists in North America.
While he is yet to produce an Australian-bred foal, Walner will be available to Australian breeders in the upcoming breeding season through Haras des Trotteurs,
