HDT Weekly Wrap | 23 April 2024

Haras des Trotteurs is proud of the influence we have had in introducing some of the world’s best bloodlines to Australasia and the impact this has had on the quality and standing of trotting in the Southern Hemisphere.

We were able to see that in the Nutrien Equine Trotting Classic Finals at Melton on Saturday, April 20.

While he no longer standing on our roster, US-bred Volstead’s first two Australian seasons at stud as a shuttle stallion with HDT has made a remarkable mark.

This was reflected with three of the four Nutrien Equine Trotting Classic Finals at Melton on April 20 were won by Volstead progeny.

What an astute move it was by Pat Driscoll to introduce this son of the great Cantab Hall US to the Southern Hemisphere.

ORLANDO Vici champion gelding Just Believe has been named the 2023 Australian Trotter of the Year by Harness Australia.

He was also voted the Australia Aged Male Trotter of the Year.

Love You’s daughter Queen Elida is the Aged Trotting Mare of the Year and son Valtino named the 2yo Trotting Colt/Gelding of the Year.
