It has been a big start on the track for the first progeny of US-bred stallion Volstead, which we stood for two seasons.


He had a siring double in Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic 2yo trotting fillies heats at Maryborough with Violet Stanford and Third Eye.


Each was on debut.


They now line up in a $30,000 final at Melton on Saturday, May 20.


In New Zealand, Quaker Jet had a double at Cambridge on Thursday with 4yo mare Quik Sharnie and 3yo gelding Castana.


It was also a busy week for Quaker Jet 4yo mare Tour in South Australia.


She had a win, second and third in the space of seven days - all at Globe Derby Park.
