Three-year-old filly La Perriere had her first career win against her own age in Ballarat on Friday, May 20.
She was having her second start.
The Yabby Dam Farms-bred Le Perriere is out of NZ-bred mare Im Ready Set, making her a full sister to Imsettogo (1:59.5, 9 wins, $119,000) and half-sister to multiple group 1 winner Im Ready Jet (Quaker Jet), which has 19 wins in 40 starts and $402,000 stakes for a best lifetime mark of 1:55.4.
Trainer Anton Golino said La Perriere still had a lot to, but in time would be very good.
“She’s so well gaited. She does it so easy,” he said.
“She’s pretty to watch.”
Love You had another big week with three Australian winners and two in New Zealand.
NZ-bred 5yo Ultimate Stride made it two wins on for trainer Chris Lang at Melton on Saturday night.
Ultimate Stride was an outstanding youngster, taking out The Redwood Classic and Breeders Crown as a 2yo.
He has had just three starts since joining the Lang stable, coming off almost a year away from the racetrack.
Love You continues to hold down second on the 2022 Australian all-age trotting sires list with 22 individual winners from 39 starters. They have a total of 326 wins.
He leads the 3yo category with 13 wins from seven winners.
