A first for Love You in New Zealand on Boxing Day with the French champion sire producing his first pacing winner.
3yo colt Outamyway saluted at his first start at the gait on the grass of Westport.
Outofmyway started out as his career as a trotter and a smart one at that for trainer Paul Nairn.
He saluted four times as a 2yo, including two NZB Standardbred Harness Million races for $120,000.
Nairn revealed early in December that he Outofmyway had a small chip in a hock and the move to pressure was an attempt to take some pressure off the troubled spot.
It was also a first for Nairn.
He has been training for almost 40 years, having more than 250 winners, but up to now all have been trotters.
This has been a season for pacing firsts for our stallion roster.
Self Exclusion (Orlando Vici) was converted to pacing in Victoria and has won twice, while 3yo pacer Vapar Fortune (Used To Me) scored at his second race start.
