Group 1 for USED TO ME

A massive week for our very own Used To Me.

His second group 1 winner, a win for a promising filly and his first NZ runner in the money.

Used To Be A Maid joined Dont Care as a G1 winner for Used To Me in the G1 $50,000 APTS final for 3yo trotting fillies at Melton on Saturday, August 13.

She stormed down the sprint lane to land the biggest prize in her career in 1:59.4 for 2240m.

The last 800m was covered in 58.2 seconds, with the last 400m in 29.3.

Lindys Love (Love You) was third.

Used To Be A Maid was bred by Yabby Dam Farms and is one of three winners out of NZ-bred mare Maidstone Miss.

She is in her first season of racing and has 4 wins in 8 starts.

Used To Be A Maid provided trainer Rod Petroff with his first G1 winner.

Dont Care provided Used To Me, which after a distinguished racing career in France was unbeaten in two Australian starts for Yabby Dam Farms, with his first G1 winner in the 2021 Vicbred Super Series final for 2yo trotting colts and geldings.

Dont Care is also G1-placed, having finished second in the Breeders Crown as a 2yo.

Used To Me has had 21 individual winners from 32 foals to race.

THE Yabby Dam Farms-bred and raced Used To Me 3yo filly La Perriere had her second career win in Ballarat on Friday, August 12 – racing away by 21.6m in a dominant display.

3YO colt Taylad To Use became the first NZ-bred foal of Used To Me to race at Cambridge Raceway in NZ on Thursday, August 11 – finishing third.

USED To Me is firmly entrenched in the top 10 nationally for trotting sires with the most wins by all age progeny. He sits 10th with 21. Love You is second (64) and Quaker Jet ninth (24)

Used To Me is also fourth top 10 nationally for trotting sires with the most wins by 3yos.

He has 7 from just 6 starters, while Love You is the tear away leader on 23
