Callmethebreeze Update

We would like to update our clients and breeders regarding standing arrangements for Callmethebreeze (CMTB) for the 2025 stud season. CMTB has been in quarantine at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital’s facility for several weeks, and has been collected on numerous occasions during that time. Unfortunately, his semen volume and motility has been moderate to date. YDF principal Pat Driscoll thanks GVEH for their efforts over the last 6 weeks, and it is hoped with time both will improve.

Accordingly, Yabby Dam Farms (YDF) has had to make the hard decision to withdraw CMTB from the International Quarantine at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital (GVEH) at Shepparton in Victoria and relocate him to YDF’s Ballarat breeding facility. CMTB’s book with be limited to 25 outside mares with these to be located at YDF Ballarat breeding facility.

Driscoll commented that fortunately YDF are well set up to receive outside mares with more than 20 small well fenced and sheltered paddocks, allowing client’s mares to be individually accommodated.

Additionally, with an experienced on-site equine reproduction vet and our recently appointed General Manager in Jason Robinson who has vast stallion experience, the plan is to collect CMTB (who by the way is a “breeze” to collect on the Phantom), as the mares come close to ovulation and inseminate directly into the mares, who will be located just a few hundred metres away from YDF’s collection facility.

With CMTB having only recently retired from racing we anticipate that the both the quantity and especially his motility of his semen will improve as the season progresses.

Lastly, to assist breeders in this transition there will be no breeding (vet) costs charged for CMTB’s outside book for the mares whilst they are at YDF’s Ballarat facility.

These changes have no impact on our other stallions who will be available as usual and as advertised.
