The progeny of veteran French stallion LOVE YOU had a day out at Maryborough on Monday, December 14. He produced two winners – each having their first career win.
LOVE GUN produced a late burst along the sprint lane to take out the VOLSTEAD @ HARAS DES TROTTEURS 2YO MAIDEN, TROT, 2190m. The last 400m was run in 28.6 seconds to set up a 2:2.2 mile rate.
The colt had had three minor placings in five starts leading into the assignment.
Love Gun was bred by Sheron Park and is raced by Domenic Martello.
He is the first foal out of top flight mare Spidergirl to race.
Spidergirl won 20 races, including the group 1 Vicbred Super Series 3yo and 4yo finals, and Breeders Crown 4yo final.
MEADOWVALLEY LOVER also won a 2yo maiden trot, 2190m.
The filly is out of Wagon Apollo mare Mangonique, making he a half-sister to three winners.
Haras Des Trotteurs stallions also produced the second-placed runners in each race - firsts starter VISIONARY (by Orlando Vici) and CENTRAL OTAGO (Love You).
Rosters stallions also had the quinella at Globe Derby Park in Adelaide on Monday.
QUAKER JET gelding QUICK QUAKER had his second win in the JOHN ROTHE VIDEO 2YO TROTTERS HANDICAP, 1800m. He finished ahead of LOVELORN (Love You).
